Rick McGee, joyful servant of the Lord

Rick McGee, joyful servant of the Lord

I can’t tell you how important that it is to a church to have people who take joy in serving.

Rick and his wife, Joann,  are stellar examples of dedication, faithfulness, and service.

Jubilee Family Church is happy to recognize, for the month of July,  Rick McGee as our volunteer of the month.

Rick serves as our Mens Ministry leader, an usher and greeter, as well as taking excellent care of our lawns and landscaping.  Rick and Joann are people of prayer, compassion, and are filled with the Holy Spirit.

They are positive encourager’s who inspire a higher level of faith.

Rick takes special care to serve and pray for me.  Thank you, Brother Rick.

The Cross Engraved in the Top of Mt. Garfield

The Cross Engraved in the Top of Mt. Garfield

Today is the birthday of the United States of America.

We give thanks for our sacred freedoms purchased by blood and maintained by prayerful vigilance.

The cross of our Lord reminds us that freedom is not cheap.  Jesus declared that He was anointed to

preach liberty and deliverance to the captive.  There are many forces working to enslave us.  Jesus came to

set us free.  Our liberty in Christ enables us to champion freedom for all.  Spiritually, Socially, Physically, and

even politically.   True Christians understand that liberty is an endowment from our creator.  We must

defend freedom tirelessly, expose tyrany, and proclaim the good news of true liberty.

It is for freedom that Christ makes you free.

Praise the Lord, pray for our nation, and may God bless America.

View of Grand Mesa from Mt. Garfield

View of Grand Mesa from Mt. Garfield

The hike to the top of Mt. Garfield rises 2000 ft. in elevation in two miles.  I like to pray over the valley from this vantage point.  I believe the Lord increases and improves my faith, vision, and attitude when looking from this lofty site.  Our problems always seem smaller when standing on a mountain top.  It is always fun to take my cell phone, sit right on the crest/cliff and call someone in the valley and say: can you see Mt. Garfield? Look right at the center and highest point on the edge… can you see me?  ok I am a little strange.  It is gratifying to traverse this rugged trail and tell myself, you are 55 and can still conquer a little mountain.  Maybe God will use me to move one by faith some day!  :)

love you all,

Pastor Crowley

I am back.

June 11th, 2009 Posted in Uncategorized | No Comments »

Due to a number of computer issues as well as changing priorities, I have not updated my blog for a long time.

Some of the issues are now resolved at least in part. So, I am back to share some things and catch up a bit.

Currently, I am preaching a series of messages entitled: GLORY, the attributes of God revealed. It is a challenge to swim in the depths of a study on “What is God like?”

I will be commenting more on this later.

I have a new video from my prayer walk/climb to the top of Mt. Garfield that will be posted soon. Please check back here regularly.

God is blessing our church and we are experiencing the presence of God in wonderful ways.

There is a good spirit of hunger and unity among most of our members. We recently completed our second 40 day prayer emphasis for 2009. God is helping us!

Personally, I have been helped and edified by a 40 day modified ” Daniel Fast ” In addition to the spiritual progress, a little weight loss was an added blessing.

My beautiful wife, Verla, is in Omaha helping my oldest daughter in the care of our first grand daughter, Grace. She was given the title of “Granny Nanny” by my son in law, Justin.

Verla and I love the people of Jubilee Family Church, and we always remember you all in our prayers.

again, check back soon….

Childrens children.

I have long emphasized the prophecy in Joel as it relates to the Holy Spirit operation to families.

Generations can be blessed by pentecost.

Have you seen pictures of my newest grand daughters?  Grace and Kamden.

I am praying that these little girls will know personally the Holy Spirit ministry in their lives.

Pentecost is for all!  Be fille with the Holy Spirit.  Claim a revival for your children, and your children’s children.

My 2 yr. old Grandson Jayden is already moving in the atmosphere of prayer.  He knows when the Holy Spirit is moving.  He loves our prayer meetings.

Some weeks ago,  we began a new series of teaching on Prayer and the local church.  Dr. P.Douglas Small is an outstanding COG teacher.  Some of the best I have ever heard on the subject of prayer.  well…

It seems that our people are practicing the teaching.  There is a new movement in our services. The Holy Spirit seems to be active in unusual ways.  The love, the praise and worship, the prayer times,  all seem to be different.  The difference is difficult to describe, but there it is real.

We had a Holy Spirit service sunday morning, yesterday.  Wow.

The openness, the liberty, the sound of joy, victory, praise,  all combined in a unique experience in the presence of God.

The kids didn’t even leave for Kids Church,  they stayed a were a part of a Pentecostal Worship service.

One special note:  We have consciously changed our focus…

previously our central focus was on preaching,  the Word…. now our aim is to make Prayer a central focus of all we do.  Worship, preaching, serving, giving, …everything comes behind the priority of prayer.  Prayer makes all we do more effective.  It is first.

I know that when we pray,  God acts.  He moves, He speaks, He shows up.   God is in the house!

blessings,

Verla and I love you all very much.

Annual Church Conference

February 9th, 2009 Posted in Uncategorized | No Comments »

Sunday Night, Feb. 8, 2009.  Jubilee Family Church conducted it’s annual required conference.  Financial reports were approved, a budget for 2009 was adopted, and testimonies from several departments were heard.

We are grateful for our involvement with the International Church of God.  We appreciate the covering and strength as we unite and partner in the Gospel.

Our congregation started the annual conference with about 30 minutes of prayer.  The Holy Spirit showed up.

Our hearts were in unity and our faith was strong.

Love is evident in this fellowship.

God bless you Jubilee Family Church!

Ministry of the Word

January 18th, 2009 Posted in Uncategorized | No Comments »

Just a note to express appreciation to those who deliver the Word and faithfully teaches and preaches with the anointing of the Holy Spirit.  I have been on vacation in Omaha, Nebraska to participate in the dedication service of our new Grand daughter, Grace.  In my absence, Pastor Scott Ammons, Pastor Kathy Richardson, and Rev. Paul Williams has ministered the Word to the good people of Jubilee Family Church.  There is a serious responsibility placed on those who minister the Word publicly.

In addition to the respect and appreciation for the above mentioned, I was encouraged by the ministry of Pastor Jay Newland here at the New Creation Church. His message was a strong encouragment for developing greater strength in our prayer life…familiar huh.

I was inspired, encouraged and even learned a few things.  Good work,  Pastor Jay.

My office staff, Brenda and Candice are to be remembered for their faithfulness in numerous details.

There are many others who deserve mention here but I know the Lord has better ways to reward than a mention in the pastors blog.

Verla and I are heading home on I-80 tomorrow morning.  See you soon!

Moving Forward Together in Changing Times

January 9th, 2009 Posted in Uncategorized | No Comments »

Rev. Raymond Culpepper, the General Overseer of the International Church of God is calling us to prayer.

My heart is moved to full agreement with the passion and call to our church family to seek the face of God and to restore our emphasis on Prayer, Great Commision, and the Trust factor.  From this web site you will find a link to the International site where the details of our Overseers call can be found.

We have devoted the entire month to the ministry of prayer.  We have learned greatly from the wed. night video teaching from Dr. P. Douglas Small.

I am commited to creating a new culture of prayer at Jubilee Family Church.  To get started, I am renewing my own personal and private disciplines, studies, and practices of prayer.  There is an apostolic calling from the book of Acts that stirs my heart.  Acts 6:4  we will give ourselves continually to prayer and the ministry of the Word.

Changing times require power from an unchanging source.

Prayer is the power that moves us into the presence of a mighty God.  Prayer will make us presentable to the Holy One who desires communion with His creation.

I am praying for a spirit of prayer to come over our whole congregation.  We need a revival of personal and corporate prayer.

Our forward movement will be accelerated by fervent prayer.  Our decline into weakness and impotence will be reversed by powerful praying.

God help us pray!

Rom. 8 tells us that the Holy Spirit will do just that!

Calling all believers…..Pray, pray, pray.

Verla and I love you.

I am learning so much of the Fathers heart as I experience the gift of life in the birth of our Grand daughter.

How easy it is to love a baby.

I am enjoying the baby during a few days off in Omaha, Nebraska.

Happy New Year!
